Our Landlord Coordinator is here to help clients with the day to day living in an apartment building. Should clients’ apartments require any repairs they contact the landlord. The Landlord is responsible for signing leases, doing a move in and move out inspection and arranging timely payment of rent.
A typical stay in our second-stage shelter program is six months. During this time clients make the decision of whether to move into our supportive Progressive Housing program or find appropriate housing in the community. There are many different programs available to our clients here at the Brenda Strafford Society. On a weekly basis residents are provided milk, bread and eggs on a first come, first serve basis. The Hillhurst-Sunnyside Community Centre, provides fresh fruit and vegetables free of charge on a weekly basis on Monday evenings from 4pm – 6pm.
