Adult Counselling

Every adult living at Brenda Strafford Centre is assigned an Adult Counsellor that they meet with on a weekly basis. Counsellors are here to help clients settle into the building and also provide support to help residents with emotional support and assist in matters such as securing financial support, budgeting, rental payment, and applying for educational programs or employment. Scheduled counselling sessions lasting up to an hour-and-a-half in length are offered once a week, with drop-in counselling available on an as-needed basis.

This group is offered in weekly sessions for residents of the Centre. It is an opportunity to share experiences and develop skills in a supportive and understanding atmosphere.

This group is offered in weekly sessions for parents residing at the Centre. Based on the tenants of Circle of Security and Triple P parenting, parents discuss and discover parenting approaches, techniques and responses to the developmental needs of their children. This group is a space for mothers to explore their parenting while earning a Parenting Class certificate.
