How We Are Taking Action

April 17 Update:

We have made the following changes in programming to protect and support our clients, our staff and our community:

  • We have created a COVID-19 Resource Hub that provides information about government response, resources available, as well as recommendations and best practices to stay safe and healthy
  • With the collaboration of some of our funders, we are creating our Youth Drop In initiative, that will offer youth at the Centre the opportunity to enjoy games nights, music and films, arts and crafts, discussion groups, and a safe, accepting space to just relax and have a break from family
  • We have designated some of our staff to a COVID-19 check-in calling team. They make daily phone calls to every family to update health status and assess what supports they need
  • We are providing clients in self-isolation with basic needs such as food, hygiene products, comfort kits and housekeeping support such as garbage removal and laundry services
  • We have adapted our programs so that we can continue to offer the important therapeutic counselling care for both adults and children. Our dedicated Counselling Team is connecting 1:1 to offer online counselling. This critical mental health support is needed now more than ever
  • All funds received through our donation form during this pandemic are designated to support families now and in the challenges to follow
